Dave Challinor outlines how Hartlepool United will vote in National League resolution

All 66 National League member clubs have been given the four resolutions which they will be required to vote on before the end of the month.

Clubs have been asked whether they want to vote for their respective division only or for all three divisions across the board regarding whether the season will continue or be declared null and void.

With Pools currently sitting second in the National League table, it is understood that they will vote to continue their season in the fifth tier.

"There are lots of unanswered questions but we’ve just got to focus on what we want as a club and we’ve been pretty agreeing across the board about what that will be,” Challinor told The Mail.

“It’s pretty obvious what we’ll do and there are a lot of clubs in that boat and we’ll just see where it takes us.”

He added: “We were expecting a resolution to be sent on Monday, it came at a strange hour on Monday night.

"We were chatting over how the vote could go because 75-per-cent for the first resolution is a big ask.

"We can’t do a great deal about it, we’ve just got to crack on and see what comes of it and hope we get the opportunity to carry on in our league at least because the majority of clubs want to do that.

"Even though the National League North and South only have minimal votes, those votes could make a big difference.

“So it will be an interesting 28 days, the landscape over the next month as a whole if it goes that far, it’s an awful lot of time.

"28 days is eight games and if we’d played on Tuesday then we’d be at 27 games which is almost two thirds of the way through the season. At that point then it poses different questions and arguments about why don’t we try and finish it or why couldn’t it be decided on points per game?

"It’s a tough scenario but we’re in a really privileged position to be able to carry on up to now and we want that to continue.”
