Dave Challinor outlines what to expect from Hartlepool United on the transfer front ahead of National League player registration deadline as they prepare for life without Stockport County loanee

Pools have until Thursday to sign players to take part in the final six matches of their 2020-21 National League campaign plus any potential play-off games that may take place.

Challinor’s side currently sit top of the National League table and are looking to strengthen following an injury to goalkeeper Ben Killip as well as the potential of a recall for in-form striker Richie Bennett to his parent club Stockport County.

“I expect us to get a couple in, more as cover than anything else,” he told The Mail.

“We’re still looking for a left-sided defender to cover Fergie [David Ferguson], a goalkeeper and potentially another forward player depending on the Richie scenario, which is uncertain.

"I suppose we’re preparing for him not being with us and if he’s not then we’ll be prepared.”
