Dave Challinor reacts as Hartlepool United confirm Mark Shelton as first summer signing
The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell from Salford City last season making 14 appearances and scoring three goals before the 2019-20 campaign was cut-short.
And he is now back at Victoria Park on a permanent deal.
Challinor said: “We’re delighted to have Shelton back, he had a great impact on the squad when he came in January.

Shelton took to social media after the move was confirmed, tweeting: “Buzzing to be back, lets make this season one to remember.”
The new National League season is set to start on October 3.
Shelton came through the ranks at Burton Albion before making a name for himself during a successful spell at Alfreton Town.

Pools returned to training last week ahead of the new National League season.
Speaking earlier this week, Challinor said: "There has been quite a few training with us, I think it’s about 14 but I can’t say too much until we’re able to announce signings next week.
"In addition to the ones contracted from last season, we’ve got players in who we’ve done deals with which we’ll be able to announce further down the line but we can’t say anything at the moment because they’re still tied to other clubs contractually.”
