DCMS announce £11m Government support package for the National League with Hartlepool United, Chesterfield, Notts County and more set for another cash injection

National League clubs are set to receive a further £11 million of funding, the Government has announced.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport have confirmed that £28 million of funding has been allocated to help non-league and women’s football combat the financial strains of the coronavirus pandemic and nationwide lockdown.

The package will be largely composed of loans with £11 million of that will going to steps one and two, £14 million going to steps three to six and the remaining £3 million going to the Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship.

For National League clubs, this comes in addition to the £10 million National Lottery package which saw a significant disparity in the amount of funding between clubs and divisions.

The lottery funding saw Hartlepool United and six other fifth tier sides receive the maximum allowance of £285,000 to be paid in three £95,000 instalments.
