Former France international Reveillere penned a deal until the end of the season when Sunderland were forced to look at options on the Bosman market to solve their defensive crisis.

The ex-Lyon full-back, yet to appear on a losing side for Sunderland, has proved such a hit in his four outings for the Cats that there has already been talk about extending his stay.

After just turning 35, Reveillere is not looking beyond next summer, yet after instantly adapting to his first taste of Premier football, he admits he would be keen for a longer stint.

Reveillere told SportMail: “I haven’t thought that far ahead yet. I’m just looking to make the most of each game as it comes. That’s what you do when you get to 35!

“But if Sunderland offer another contract, then we will see.

“I really like the club, the players, the stadium and the life over here. So if there was a chance to stay here longer, then why not.”

He added: “I’m very happy. I’ve played in a win and three draws so it’s all good.

“I’m pleased with the way I’ve been able to adapt to the side.

“I’ve been able to get used to the team and the level of the league. I’ve had to play on the left for the last few games, but that’s OK. I’m really enjoying it.

“In games like Chelsea on Saturday, you come up against some of the best players in the world. All I can keep doing is giving my maximum every game.”
