The 24-year-old midfielder had attracted a lot of interest following his release from Blackburn Rovers with Pools looking to make a permanent move in the summer.

National League North sides York City and White’s former club Gateshead are also understood to have had dialogue with the ex-Rovers man.

White previously spent time on loan at Barrow during the 2019-20 season, helping the Bluebirds to a National League title in the process.

The 2020-21 campaign proved to be more difficult for the former England C international as a frustrating loan spell at Bolton Wanderers was followed up by a brief move to Victoria Park in February.

He went on to make 10 appearances for Hartlepool before returning to Blackburn last month. Pools boss Dave Challinor hinted at a summer return for White but Barrow have won the race for his signature instead.
