The former Sunderland and York City left-back has been almost ever-present for Pools this season with one goal and 11 assists to his name to help the side claim a spot in the play-off final against Torquay United this weekend.
While pleased to have been named in the team of the season in his first campaign at Victoria Park, Ferguson insists it will mean nothing if Pools don’t go on to secure promotion.

“For me, it’s all about the collective achievement than the individual accolade, it will only really be worth something if we get the job done and achieve that main goal.”
Last week, Ferguson’s teammate Rhys Oates was named in the Vanarama Team of the Season, which is limited to one player per club and not to be confused with the National League’s team of the season. Still, it didn’t stop Ferguson panicking.
"I was told I was in the team of the season a few weeks ago but the other day there was another team of the season with Oatesy in it,” added the Pools number 3.

"But fair play to Oatesy because he’s been class and hopefully the whole team can get the recognition with a win on Sunday.”
On Sunday’s game, Ferguson added: “I’m excited more than anything. I'm like a kid before Christmas, going to Disneyland. You just want the day to come and as soon as that whistle goes we'll be ready to go.
"It’s a first for me in terms of a promotion final, hopefully it finishes off being a good one.

"We’ve had a lot of travelling too so yeah, it's a long season but in a couple of weeks time we’re at it again!”
