Luke Molyneux’s early goal proved to be the difference between the sides as Pools claimed their first away win of 2021 to draw level on points with the league leaders going into the game.
Only goal difference separates Hartlepool with a Torquay side who beat them 5-0 at Victoria Park earlier in the season and held a 14 point cushion at one stage.
After the match, Poolies took to Twitter to voice their satisfaction…
Pools midfielder Gavan Holohan tweeted: “Huge win today, boys were outstanding. Makes the long trek back a little less long!”
@bigkev8501 had some good news to wake up to: “Been working night shifts and just woke up to this result. What a result it is... Will go to work a happy man tonight!”
