After selling over 3,000 season tickets last season, Hartlepool have had to take a different approach this time out due to the restrictions of the coronavirus lockdown.

From next week, Poolies will be able to apply for their 2020-21 season tickets next week when application forms will be made available to download from hartlepoolunited.co.uk or collection from the main reception at Victoria Park.

Only 1,000 tickets will be made available initially due to the ‘ever-evolving uncertainties around the return of crowds to elite football’. Further tickets are expected to be released in due course.

Season tickets are priced at £325 for adults, £225 for concessions, which will no longer include people aged 60 to 64, £95 for under-16s, £50 for under-12s and free for carers and under-5s.

No early bird or finance options have been made available by the club so far though people will be able to reserve their preferred seats, should they wish.

A loyalty point system will also be introduced for ticket purchasers to help determine access to high demand matches such as cup ties.

On the announcement, a club statement read: “We are extremely aware that price and category changes made for the forthcoming season may adversely affect some of you.

“The overwhelming feedback we have received is that the changes we are implementing from this season are long overdue.

"It is essential that we do the right things now, more than ever, and we hope you will understand that tough decisions are required to protect the Club’s future and sustainability.

“Successful applicants will be advised accordingly and any applications in excess of our restricted numbers will be placed on a waiting list pending the release of further tranches of season tickets as further guidance from governing bodies emerges.”
