Pools initially agreed a 28 day loan for the 23-year-old midfielder who has since played five National League games for the club.

As reported in The Mail last month, White will now remain on loan at the club until May 15. White’s final match for Pools this season will be a trip to Aldershot Town with his loan expiring before the final two games of the season as well as potential play-off matches.

Confirmation of the extension came through just in time for Hartlepool’s clash with Eastleigh on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

Once the fifth tier season got the green light to continue as planned, a loan extension always looked to be a formality, despite the delay.

After arriving, White admitted he was thinking more ‘long term’ at Victoria Park with his contract at Blackburn set to expire this summer.
