Hartlepool United extend loan move of Salford City midfielder Mark Shelton until the end of the season
Shelton has started four matches for Pools so far and netted his first goal for the club in Tuesday night’s 2-1 victory over Eastleigh at Victoria Park.
Hartlepool manager Dave Challinor spoke of his desire to keep Shelton at the club longer term as he looks to prepare his side for a play-off charge as they approach the business end of the National League season.

Hide AdShelton was also keen to commit to Pools for the remainder of the season after an enjoyable month in the north east.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and I’m not just saying that,” he admitted.
“Things weren’t going the way I wanted at Salford, I was playing at the start then I wasn’t and all of a sudden the weeks tick by and you’re at a standstill.
“It helps when the manager wants you, I went to Woking earlier in the season but with all the travelling and them being part-time, it didn’t really work out for me.

Hide Ad“But for a manager to want you and make that clear, you’ve got to try and repay that in a way.
“I’m buzzing to be playing here and hopefully I can get more goals if I can to help the team push towards the play-offs.”
