Hartlepool United fans react as Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney make shock move to invest in National League club Wrexham

The National League club could see a potential £2 million pound investment from Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
This comes after Wrexham’s Supporters Trust voted overwhelmingly in favour of holding talks with the acting pair.

Hide AdIt has also been strongly suggested that Reynolds and McElhenney were part of the ‘anonymous’ takeover bid at Hartlepool United over the summer, which was rejected by chairman Raj Singh.


Reynolds is well known for his starring role in the hit Marvel film Deadpool while McElhenney is the creator and star of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the longest-running live-action comedy series in American television history.
On Wednesday, September 23, Wrexham released a statement which read: “Talks with the proposed bidders will now continue and we are in a position to confirm the two people interested in investing in Wrexham AFC.
“Rob McElhenney is an American actor, director, producer and screenwriter, best known as the creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

“In due course, Mr. McElhenney and Mr. Reynolds will put forward their vision for Wrexham AFC and proposal for members to vote on at a second Special General Meeting.”
