Kenton Richardson was forced off with an ankle injury during the 4-1 FA Cup third round defeat at Oxford United on Saturday.

He is set to join Luke Williams (hamstring), Luke James (groin) and Josh Hawkes (abdomen) on Pools’ injury list.

“Kenton will struggle so he’s the only new one of any concern after Saturday,” said Hartlepool manager Dave Challinor.

“Josh has a problem with his stomach area and he’s getting examined and scanned, we still suspect it could be a potential hernia but we’ll see if it can be managed or whether something more drastic is necessary.”

Pools will have Gary Liddle and Mark Shelton back available after being cup-tied over the weekend while defender Myles Anderson is also in contention after returning from his loan at Aldershot Town.
