Hartlepool United line-up v Gateshead confirmed: Strong starting XI named by Dave Challinor at the International Stadium with two trialists on the bench

Today’s match sees Pools play their final official pre-season match before the planned start of the season on October 3.

Dave Challinor has named a strong starting-11 to face the Heed with Ben Killip named in goal.

Ryan Donaldson, Gary Liddle, Timi Odusina and David Ferguson complete the back four from right to left.

Nicky Featherstone, Tom Crawford and Gavan Holohan are the midfield three with Joe Grey and Claudio Ofosu playing either side of David Parkhouse in attack.

Two unnamed trialists are the only players on the bench this afternoon with the rest of Pools’ squad playing a training match at Darlington today. It is likely most players will get 90-minutes on the field today.
