Pools’ two previously arranged matches at The Hive were postponed due to coronavirus concerns.

Now Dave Challinor’s side will be making the near 500-mile round trip there and back on the day as they look to build on Saturday’s encouraging win at Yeovil Town.

Meanwhile Pools go into the game knowing a win could take them level on points with second place although they’d need to win by seven clear goals to move into the runners-up spot.

"It’s a tough place to go and we’ll be doing it there and back on the day,” Challinor told The Mail.

“They’re looking to bounce back from some disappointing results. We’ve got to look at what we did in the first half at Yeovil in terms of how we played and what we did well."

Pools have enjoyed a perfect start to the league season away from home with a record-breaking three wins from their first three games on the road.

And after a decline in form in recent weeks, Challinor was delighted with his side’s ‘complete’ performance at Huish Park as they got back to winning ways.

Now it’s about carrying that momentum into tonight’s match at The Hive.

“The message stays the same," Challinor said. “We look at how we got forward in the first half at Yeovil and how we set up defensively and saw the game out in the second.

“Over the 90-minutes, it was a complete performance in terms of it had everything. It had the really good play but it also had the digging in, putting bodies on the line, blocks, winning headers, it had all of those things.

"Whether it be Tuesday night or the following game or the game after that, at some point we’ll have to do those things again and it’s important that we’re prepared and able to do that in order to get a result.”
