Despite no new confirmed injuries, the snow has impacted training this week and forced Pools to be ‘careful’ with certain individuals. Luke James (groin), Luke Williams (hamstring), Fraser Kerr (back), Michael Raynes (thigh) and Adam Bale (knee) remain sidelined.

“There are no new injury concerns, we are where we’re at,” Challinor said.

“We've got a few little niggles which you get this time of year but we’ll be careful with them in training ahead of Saturday.”

Challinor also has to be wary of his players who are fit but aren’t playing as the likes of Josh Hawkes, Kenton Richardson and Myles Anderson have had limited game time since returning from their respective injuries.

“We have players who are disappointed, but not in a bad way,” he added.

“On Saturday, we had to leave Kenton out of the squad completely based on the subs that we felt would be most beneficial to us. Myles and Hawkesy haven’t got on and they’re disappointed, which I don’t mind but it’s important they use that as motivation.

“We’ll need everyone over the next bit of the season so I want the players to be elated for the team but have that good-natured disappointment.

“We’ve got a real good spirit and togetherness in the dressing room but also a real desire to be in the starting 11 which can only benefit the team as a whole.”
