A second-half brace from Nicky Featherstone saw Pools move to within a point of the play-off places with Harker’s injury being the only downside to another near-perfect afternoon at Victoria Park.

Following the match, United manager Dave Challinor confirmed that the 19-year-old had twisted his ankle but remains hopeful that he will be available for net weekend’s trip to Boreham Wood.

“Rob’s okay, it was a twist rather than a kick which is more serious but it’s not too bad on first assessment,” Challinor said.

“Fingers crossed he’ll be fine because it’s his ankle and with ankles, you can tape them up and strap them and he’s a tough lad so hopefully, he’ll be fine.

“We need everyone fit because when we have that, we’ve got real competition.”
