Pools welcome an Exeter City side for their second round replay at Victoria Park following the 2-2 draw at St. James’ Park.

“Things turn around quickly and Tuesday is obviously a difficult game for us which we will prepare properly for,” Challinor said.

“We’ll take positives from the first game that will hopefully help us progress and then the third round tie against Oxford is a big draw but first and foremost the prize money for winning in the second round is massive for the club.

“We’ll be doing what we can to win and hopefully we can learn lessons and move on quickly.

“I’ve said a lot about us creating opportunities and being a threat going forward but if we’re going to achieve anything this season we need to get things right at the other end and at the moment that’s not happening.”

Pools’ won’t have new loan signing Tyler Hamilton available due to him signing after the initial tie – no outgoings are expected before the game.

“We’d agreed for another player to go out but that situation has changed due to the FA Cup replay,” Challinor added.

“I can’t register anyone who wasn’t available for the first game so we are a little bit short on bodies. We’ve had players from our under-19 with the squad and no one will go out before the replay but we’ll see where we’re at after.”
