The defender, who set-up Aidan Keena’s late winner, had to be withdrawn as Pools claimed a crucial victory at Damson Park.

And Challinor quickly calmed any fears that the Fleetwood loanee’s injury was serious by joking: “He’s fine, he thinks we’ve won 5-0!

“He's got a bash on the head, by the players' accounts he was knocked out so there will obviously be protocols to go through.

"He's fine, it's not like he's away with the fairies, he's compos mentis and knows where he is so he'll be fine.

"Depending on what the situation is, he may not be available for the weekend but then other players in the squad have an opportunity to come in."
