Hartlepool United manager provides brief update on Carl Magnay situation

The 30-year-old is yet to agree a new deal at the Super 6 Stadium but is currently training with the Pools squad to work on his fitness.

Magnay was strongly linked with a move to National League North side Spennymoor Town though the player returning to training and being present at Pools’ pre-season opener at Billingham Town on Tuesday evening has raised some questions.

And manager Craig Hignett shed some light on the situation without confirming whether Magnay would be signing a new deal or not.

“Mags is injured so we want to get him fit and then we’ll assess where we go with him from there,” he said.

“He was at BIllingham and has trained this week, we just need to get him fit and see what happens.”
