The Irish midfielder ended his 12-match run without a goal in the National League as he tapped in a 90th-minute winner to secure a 2-1 comeback victory for Pools at Victoria Park.

But it was the emphatic set-up from teenage substitute Joe Grey that put the ball on a plate for Holohan that got all the plaudits.

"It's Joe's goal really,” Holohan admitted.

“He could have easily played the the safe option and played it back to Cass but he’s taken a chance and came back inside, got away, done the defender and his presence of mind to pick me out at the back post, it’s different class from him.

"I know I might get the credit for it but that’s Joe’s goal and he’s got a bright future.”

It’s the first league goal Holohan had scored since the reverse fixture at Yeovil back in November.

He added: "There’s no denying it, I’ve had a drought like the Sahara Desert!"

"Confidence is massive in football and there have probably been opportunities that I’ve missed that previously I wouldn’t have given a second thought to in front of goal. I’ve been getting in the areas so I was confident it was going to turn for me.

"I’ve always had that belief that it would turn eventually for me and there’s no better way than a last-minute tap in. I needed an easy goal like that to get me back on the horse but massive plaudits to Joe for that.”

Despite the jubilation of scoring a last minute winner, Holohan was quick to admit that the feeling wasn't the same without fans there to cheer the team on.

“It’s a great feeling but it would have been even better with 4,000 screaming Poolies in here,” he continued.

“That’s the only disappointing thing but it’s a massive win for us to show that character to come back from a goal down against a good Yeovil side who are probably in a bit of a false position. It’s a massive win.”
