Here's how our Pools writer rated Darren Sarll's side after their defeat against in-form Dagenham - do you agree?

5. David Ferguson: 5
Allowed marauding full-back Sam Ling too much space to pick out Umerah for the winning goal but was left to defend a huge area as Pools pushed their wingers right up the pitch. Did well in possession and offered a threat going forward before being sent off following a second bookable offence late on. Can consider himself a little unfortunate as he looked to have been fouled before tugging Dion Pereira and picking up his first booking, while referee Stuart Morland was more lenient towards Dagenham's Frank Vincent despite two similar challenges. 6. Nathan Sheron: 7
The game rather passed him by in the opening exchanges but his influence grew as the afternoon progressed. Won plenty of challenges, was probably his team's best presser out of possession and he always tried to look forward with the ball at his feet. Photo: Frank Reid

7. Nicky Featherstone: 8
Showed exactly why he's stood the test of time so well in his 424th Pools game, becoming the club's fourth highest appearance maker of all time. Kept his team ticking over, never panicked in possession and was at the heart of almost all his side's best passages of play. Photo: Frank Reid

8. Nathan Asiimwe: 5
Certainly showed plenty of desire and determination but never really got into the game. Did well on a couple of occasions to get past his man or drive to the byline but was unable to build on his initial good work and his end product was generally underwhelming. Should be more to come.
