Here are the player ratings from Saturday’s match...
Could do little about Stockport’s goal but made a fine save to deny Elliot Newby moments earlier. Also stopped Macauley Southam-Hales coming back to haunt the side with a smart stop. Was quiet attacking down the left but remained alert and put his body on the line. Was dominant in the air and on the ground as Pools remained solid prior to Stockport's equaliser. Made a great challenge and several good blocks over the course of the game to limit Stockport. Put in a quality delivery for Holohan’s opener and defended well. Came close to scoring in the second half but couldn’t connect with Armstrong’s cross. Went off after taking a knock. Gave away possession in a dangerous area on one occasion but was otherwise calm and composed on the ball. Looked to make things happen between the lines and was unlucky not to turn Armstrong’s cross into the goal just before half-time. Was trying too hard to find the killer pass in the first half but improved after putting Pools ahead after the break with a good header. Quiet in front of goal but worked hard and created a few good chances for Pools. Had a couple of half chances but struggled to threaten alongside Armstrong. On for Sterry 77: Pools conceded before he could get a touch of the ball. On for Armstrong 90: Added some pace in the closing stages. Nice to see him back on the pitch for the first time this year.
