Goals from Rob Milsom, Louis John and Isaac Olaofe saw the U’s clinch promotion and the National League title for the first time in their history.
Pools had a few opportunities and had a goal disallowed shortly after half-time but they ultimately fell short as they remained fourth in the table.

1. Brad James - 4
Was very busy and made a couple of solid claims early on but made a glaring error for Sutton’s opener as he spilled the free-kick into the goal. Still recovered slightly in the second half with a good fingertip save.
2. Jamie Sterry - 6
Hit the post with a great chance early on. Was full of running but caught out once or twice down the right.

3. Lewis Cass - 6
Couldn’t play his usual game breaking out from defence as Pools were pegged back in the first half. Pools lost their way defensively following his withdrawal.

4. Gary Liddle - 5
Made a couple of decent challenges but was well beaten by Olaofe for Sutton’s third.
