This Saturday sees Pools travel to Halifax Town, the third time they have played each other in the past fortnight after previous cup and league games.

Pools will be hoping to build on the home victory over Halifax on Boxing Day and the Monday afternoon victory away at Notts County.

Challinor says his players have nothing to fear from the fixture as they look to build on their impressive recent run of wins.

Looking ahead to the weekend game, Chalinor said: “The players were off Tuesday and Wednesday, back in Thursday, Friday and go there and try to win on Saturday at Halifax.

"It was always the plan because it’s been a tough start from the start of the season and Christmas is always a busy time so the players have earned that rest and recuperation because it’s a big shift that has been required over the two games and for a team that relies on our energy and our legs.

"January 2nd will be there for everyone to see and we’ll aim to go get another positive result at The Shay.

"There will be no surprises in terms of how they play.

"Fingers crossed we’ve got rid of that storm that has been with us and the wind doesn’t impact the game as much as it did last weekend.

"I know we’re a decent team and they’re a decent team too in a good run of form and won again on Monday.

"For us, it’s about doing what we do and winning and after going to Notts County and picking up three points and a clean sheet, going to anywhere in this league should hold no fears for us.”
