The young winger is yet to feature for Pools this season after injuring his foot during a pre-season match at York City.

He isn’t expected to be in line to start matches for around a month but he is closing in on being back involved in the matchday squad.

“Luke was integrated back on Monday which is a great boost for him, the squad and the team,” said assistant manager Joe Parkinson.

“There’s no new injuries after Saturday’s game so fingers crossed we’ve got the same squad to pick from on Boxing Day.

“We’ll assess the squad and see them all ahead of the game and take it from there. It is a squad thing and we’ll be looking to use the squad but we see how things are in training.”

Luke Williams (hamstring) and Luke James (groin) are out while Aaron Cunningham (knee) remains a doubt. Dimi Konstantopoulos featured in the FA Trophy match at Harrogate Town less than a fortnight ago but had an afternoon to forget at the CNG Stadium.

Despite saving a penalty, the Greek goalkeeper dropped the ball twice late on to see the home side snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. He won’t be involved for the Boxing Day trip.

Parkinson added: “Dimi was unfortunately at fault for a couple of goals at Harrogate but he’s been off for a few days after taking a knock to the ribs so won’t be involved.”
