Pools, who scraped past Cheltenham Town on Saturday, will visit Moor Lane on the first weekend in December.

Salford City are the so-called ‘Class of 92 club’ with Manchester United legends Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and the Neville brothers, Gary and Phil, co-owners of the non-league outfit.

Their Salford City side bridged a 59-place gap on the football ladder to knock out League Two Notts County in front of the BBC TV cameras on Friday night.

The Northern Premier League Premier Division part-timers went ahead through Danny Webber after being set up by former Pools star James Poole 18 seconds into the second half.

Richie Allen’s brilliant goal settled the issue to the delight of the non-leaguers and Gary Neville and Scholes in the 1,400 crowd.

Pools reached the second round thanks to a maiden goal by summer signing Kudus Oyenuga.
