Hartlepool United boss Ronnie Moore promises changes for trip to Dagenham & Redbridge

One definite alteration is at right-back, where new loan signing, Luke Hendrie, will replace Brad Halliday, who this week returned to Middlesbrough following the end of his loan stint.

Moore also has a choice to make in goal – last week at Northampton Town he opted to keep Adam Bartlett between the sticks but since then, big summer signing Trevor Carson has played another 90 minutes in his comeback.

The Pools boss could change his central defence with Matthew Bates a candidate to come in to provide an experienced head at the back.

Moore admits he has “food for thought.”

“I’ve got one or two big decisions to make,” explained Moore.

“Does the keeper stay in? Does the keeper come out? Does a centre-half stay in or come out?

“There is food for thought there and think there will be one or two disappointed lads, but they’ve had enough opportunities.”

The keeper question is a big one.

Bartlett has been good, very good in fact, and Moore has been pleased with the contribution of the Geordie he brought in as cover for Carson, who has just recovered from a toe injury.

“He’s got two games for the reserves under his belt,” said the boss.

“There is frustration from Cars because he wants to play, but Adam has been in top form.

“Recently, he’s made a couple of errors and when a keeper makes a mistake, it’s highlighted.

“A centre-forward can miss one or two but when a goalie makes one or two little errors, everyone is on it straight away.

“Adam’s been fantastic since he joined us, but I have to make a decision when Cars comes back in.

“We’ll find out tomorrow, whether it’s the right or wrong decision.”

While Moore has been looking to bring in new talent, the same has applied to depleted Dagenham & Redbridge.

Daggers boss Wayne Burnett could only fill five of his seven bench spots at Yeovil last week.

The Eastenders have brought in several experienced figures, ex-Sunderland centre-half Nyron Nosworthy joining in the summer and another former Black Cat, Justin Hoyte signing recently.

Both played in the 2-2 draw at Huish Park, as did 40-year-old striker Jamie Cureton, who was League Two’s second top scorer last season.
