Hartlepool United hope to keep Reading midfielder all season

But boss Ronnie Moore admits they are no further forward in bringing in new signings to boost their battle against relegation.

Reading prospect Tshibola, who joined on a month-long deal at the start of this month, impressed in the 1-1 draw with Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.

The 20-year-old’s deal is due to finish after Saturday’s home match against Plymouth Argyle but Moore is confident of securing his services until the summer.

He told SportMail that Tshibola is keen to stay and he was hoping for confirmation from Championship side Reading today.

Moore said: “I have asked if we can let Tish stay here until the end of the season.

“The boy wants to play and hopefully we’ll get confirmation today [from Reading] to say he is all right to stay with us.”

The highly-rated midfielder signed a new two-year deal with The Royals during the summer and went on to make his senior debut as a second half substitute against Nottingham Forest in August.

He has since made four consecutive appearances for Pools since joining on loan.

Tshibola signed the same day Sunderland defender Scott Harrison and Mansfield Town striker Rakish Bingham arrived on loan deals until the end of the season.

With TMH 2014 still waiting

for Football League approval more than a month after their takeover was announced, Moore has struggled to add further new signings to his squad.

He wants to add two more but says at this moment in time they will be loan rather than permanent signings.

One player on the radar is Plymouth Argyle striker Marvin Morgan although he played down the link when asked about him after the draw with Tranmere.

The 31-year-old has been told he can leave Home Park to find a new club and Pools are believed to be tracking him.

Moore told SportMail: “There are no updates on incomings.

“I don’t know anything about that one [Marvin Morgan].

“I am looking for the right one but we’ll have to wait.

“The three new lads have done well and I am still hoping to bring two more in.

“That will give us more to work on.”

Meanwhile, goalscorer Scott Fenwick was today due to have a scan on his injured right arm, which he hurt after falling heavily attempting to block a Rovers clearance.

Initially, it looked like the 24-year-old may have dislocated it but the striker and physio Ian Gallagher said they didn’t believe it had popped out.

The former Dunston striker will be sent to hospital for a scan today.

Moore said: “Scotty just felt it but he didn’t think it came out.

“Buster thought it was alright but he will have an x-ray today to make sure as a precaution.

“Scotty had done well, the front three all played well I thought.

“They were all at it and had a real good go.”a
