Jordan Nobbs is one of England’s brightest talents.

Capped 21 times, the 22-year-old Arsenal midfielder has recovered from back trouble which interrupted her 2014 campaign.

Keith was a strong defender at Victoria Park, making over 300 apperances for the club, where he is now the Community Foundation Officer.

Unlike her dad, Jordan is a midfield talent, and is one of four ex-Sunderland players boss Mark Sampson named in his squad.

Skipper Steph Houghton, Jill Scott and Lucy Bronze are also in the 23-strong squad for the competition in Canada next month.

England open their campaign against France on June 9, three days after the tournament starts, before finishing their group with matches against which also faces group games against Mexico and Colombia.

Houghton, Scott, Nobbs and Bronze all began their careers with Sunderland before finding fame and England glory elsewhere.

Man City defender Houghton, from South Hetton, has won 53 caps and will lead the side.

Her City team-mate Scott, who has worn the Three Lions 90 times, has been selected despite missing the Sky Blues last three games after being suspended for headbuting an opponent.

However, it would have been a shock had the 28-year-old, from Sunderland, been left out.

Bronze is another of Man City’s former Lady Black Cat players.

The 23-year-old defender, from Northumberland, has earned 16 caps to date.

Unfortunately, Stokes missed the final cut, with the 23-year-old full-back seemingly losing out to Chelsea’s Claire Rafferty.
