Ronnie Moore has added further strength to his squad ahead of the new season after completing the signing of Bartlett.

The 29-year-old goalie has been training with Pools during pre-season following his release from National League outfit Gateshead at the end of last term.

His departure from The Tynesiders surprised many after he made 138 appearances during a three-year stay with the club and Moore has moved quickly to bring him to Victoria Park.

Bartlett will now compete with fellow summer signing Trevor Carson for the number one spot at The Vic in the new season.

Bartlett came through the ranks at Newcastle United where he was on the books from the age of nine, playing for all their junior teams before being released at 19 and joining Blyth Spartans.

Spells with Kidderminster Harriers and Hereford United followed as the determined gloveman worked hard to move his way back up the leagues before joining Gateshead in the summer of 2012.
