There was also loud applause from all sections at the Vic just before kick-off last night with Barnet manager Martin Allen and his bench joining in the impromptu tribute from the 3,124 crowd.

It followed on from the town uniting in grief last week following Jacob’s death.

“Our thoughts go out to Jacob’s family, God knows what they must be going through,” said Moore.

“How do you cope with that?

“It was a great gesture by the club and the supporters.

“The response from the town has been brilliant.

“We moan and grumble about three points but that’s just football.

“Someone loses their life so young, what is going on right now for the family is horrific.”
