Hebburn Town manager keen on second Hartlepool United loan deal

Hartlepool United youngster Kian Foreman has joined National League North newcomers Hebburn Town on loan until January.

Hebburn Town manager Daniel Moore is hoping to take a second Hartlepool United youngster on loan after the National League North newcomers secured a deal for winger Kian Foreman.

The 18-year-old spent three months on loan with the Hornets during their successful push for the Northern Premier League Premier Division title last season before seeing out the campaign with Spennymoor Town. Foreman returned to Pools at the end of the season but will now form part of the Hebburn squad that will compete in the second tier of the non-league game after they landed a historic promotion last time out.

Foreman produced an eye-catching display in the first appearance of his second stint on South Tyneside as he featured in a 3-3 pre-season friendly draw with Gateshead - and Moore has admitted he could soon be joined by another Pools youngster after he confirmed a loan deal for former Newcastle United academy striker Josh Donaldson could be completed by the end of the week.

The 20-year-old forward joined Pools last summer following his release from the Magpies and spent last season on loan at Northern Premier League East Division side Dunston UTS. Donaldson scored 13 goals in 26 appearances during his time with Jon McDonald’s side and that prompted Pools to trigger a one-year extension option in his contract this summer. Moore is now keen to secure his services on a loan deal and insisted the striker will get opportunities within his side during the season.

When asked if there was interest in Donaldson, Moore told The Mail: “Yes, and hopefully that can be done by the end of the week. He’s another lad I kept an eye on throughout last season when he was at Dunston and he’s a very good goalscorer. He scored a goal every other game when you look at his stats. That’s something we want to bring to the club, we want to score goals and we are going to need to score goals to achieve what we want to achieve so hopefully, we can get him in as well and give him a platform to flourish in a team that will get after teams during the season and will score goals.”
