A toe injury on the eve of the season ruled the Northern Ireland keeper out for over seven weekks, allowing fellow summer arrival, Adam Bartlett, to seal his place in the Pools goal.

But Carson is now fit and Moore has thrown him the gloves for today’s match at Victoria Road against the strugling Daggers.

Bartlett, who has played the first 15 matches, was named on the bench.

Carson was one of three debutants in the EastEnd for Pools.

Mid-week loan signing, Luke Hendrie, was named at right back folowing his arrival from Championship outfit Burnley.

He came in for Brad Halliday, who has returned to Middlesbrough at the end of his loan deal.

And eve-of-match signing Magnus Okuonghae came in at centre-half in place of Andrew Boyce.

Okuonghae, on a month’s loan from Luton Town, was coming up against the club he captained.

The final change at the back was down the left where Dan Jones took over from Jake Carroll who moved forward to replace Connor Smith.
