Niko Muir’s second half strike proved enough for Pools as they turned the corner after back-to-back defeats. And our Pools writer, Dominic Scurr, has dished out some high marks in his player ratings. Scroll down and click through the pages to see who shone and struggled:
5. Ryan Donaldson - 8
Positive and full of endeavour. Biggest positive is that the Pools skipper didn’t look like a player who hadn't featured at all in pre-season, that was until his clear-cut diving header went agonisingly wide of the post at the end of the first half. Deserved to score but still played a big part in the opening goal. Photo: Mark Fletcher
6. Gime Toure - 8
Energetic, exciting and always a threat going forward - just lacking the killer touch in front of goal. Photo: Ian Randall
7. Niko Miur - 7
Came close shortly after coming off the bench and reacted quickly to score the all important winner from close range. Photo: Ian Randall
8. Jason Kennedy - N/A
Didn’t get a touch. Photo: Mark Fletcher
