The Pools boss will field an entirely different XI for each half at Spennymoor (kick-off 3pm).

But Moore says he will send out a “strong” side for Tuesday night’s Victoria Park friendly against Scunthorpe United.

Pools conceded their first pre-season goal last night as their 100 per cent friendly run ended at Whitby Town, where they drew 1-1.

Moore was not unappy after receiving a “helluva” test against the Evo-Stik League side, managed by former Pools promotion winner Darren Williams.

But after rotating his squad throughout the first week of games, there will be a different approach.

“We’ll go with a similar thing at Spennymoor,” Moore told SportMail. “But on Tuesday I’ll try to pick a strong side and give them 60 minutes or so in that game, so I’m looking forward to that.”

The boss explained that there will be a new slant in training after three weeks of hard yards.

“We’re going to look now at speedwork now,” he said.

“We’ve done all the endurance work, now we need to brighten them up

and sharpen them up.”

Moore is looking to see his players up their game and play at a higher pace in the remainder of pre-season after felling they were “too slow” at the Turnbull Ground.

“We spoke about tempo last year, Spennymoor is going to be another big tester like this was,” he said.

“We need to be upping the tempo, whichever 11 are playing.

“In the first half we were too slow, while the second half team had more of the ball and should have done better with it.

“It’s going to come, we’re still getting the cobwebs blown off.”

And Moore revealed that summer signing Kudus Oyenuga would be getting extra work to bring him up to fitness,

The former Spurs Academy product saw a lot of the ball last night but looked a little off the pace.

“Kudus was frustrating,” said Moore with typical honesty. “You see a little bit [of promise] at times when he was running at people but he’s way off it fitness-wise.

“He’s probably two or three weeks off [being match-fit].

“I think he’s going to get battered and be in on the afternoons to get himself sorted out because he’s let himself go.”
