1. GK - Ben Killip
The obvious choice between the sticks. Killip has unsurprisingly played more minutes than any other Pools player in pre-season and has looked solid following his summer arrival from Braintree Town. Photo: Frank Reid
2. RB - Kenton Richardson
An encouraging stand-out performer in defence in pre-season. The 20-year-old looks to have taken his opportunity with both hands in the friendly matches and deserves a place in the starting XI against Sutton. Photo: Frank Reid
3. CB - Michael Raynes
Veteran defender Raynes will be one of the first names on the team sheet given his commanding displays in pre-season. Will likely don the captain's armband for the day too. Photo: Frank Reid
4. LB - Romoney Crichlow-Noble
A much needed addition to the Hartlepool squad this week. Crichlow-Noble strengthens the left back position with pace and power. It will be interesting to see how the 20-year-old adapts to National League football. Photo: Frank Reid
