Hartlepool United's squad evaluated and assessed:

13. Nathan Sheron
Another new arrival, Sheron was a regular in the Oldham side throughout the last two seasons, making 89 National League appearances. Like Hunter, who is likely to line up alongside him, he appears to be a midfielder in Sarll's own image; more functional than fancy, Sheron is renowned as being full of running, determination and desire. Should help to add the bite that Pools were sorely lacking last term while he will be hoping to chip in with the odd goal here and there after producing the most prolific season of his career in his final campaign with the Latics, netting six times. 14. Anthony Mancini
The enigmatic Frenchman is due back across the Channel for the first day of pre-season after apparently recovering from a persistent groin problem back in his homeland. Keep him fit, and Pools could have one of the National League's brightest talents on their hands. Injuries have plagued the 23-year-old's fledgling career so far, with a hamstring injury halting an electric start to his Pools career before a groin problem prevented him from making much of an impact after Christmas, other than a spectacular winner against Ebbsfleet. Might not be an obvious fit for a Sarll side, who tend to be direct and reliant on an energetic, relentless press but such is his quality that the new manager could make an exception for Mancini provided he can prove his fitness. 15. Kieran Wallace
The luckless Wallace endured another injury-hit campaign after Pools signed him from Mansfield, heedless of warnings that he struggles with persistent fitness problems; the 29-year-old has managed just 92 league starts across his 11 year career as a professional. When he was fit last term he produced 21, largely underwhelming, National League performances and didn't feature at all after the end of February. Underwent surgery towards the end of last season and, as yet, it's hard to tell when he will return. Supporters will hope he can get fit enough to show them what he can do - after all, he arrived from Mansfield with a favourable reputation - but he's unlikely to be at the forefront of Sarll's plans. 16. Nicky Featherstone
Was an ever present last season after his return in October but has signed a player-coach deal and turns 36 in September. Will certainly still feel like he has a role to play on the pitch, and Sarll professes to be a big fan. Due a testimonial and is the club's sixth highest appearance maker of all time. For all he divides opinion, he remains an intelligent, cultured footballer and has experience of helping Pools win promotion. Photo: Mark Fletcher
