Things have been quiet on the transfer front for Hartlepool United this month. Tyler Magloire’s expired loan has been the only major departure to date.

Left-back Joe Bunney has also left Victoria Park with the hope of securing a deadline day move back to the EFL.

Jamie Sterry and Ryan Johnson have extended their stays at Pools until the end of the season but that’s as far as the club have got in terms of incomings.

But with plenty of uncertainty surrounding the National League season and whether it will continue, Pools are slightly vulnerable to being picked off by Football League sides looking for a last minute bargain.

Many players are out of contract in the summer and could favour a move to the EFL over the risk of going months without playing football should the National League season shut down.

It’s something Dave Challinor will need to be wary of, but so far this month any external interest in Pools players have been limited to Twitter rumours rather than any credible sources.

Colchester United and Carlisle United were rumoured on Twitter to be interested in Gavan Holohan. But with the 29-year-old still having over a year left on his contract at Pools, any departure is unlikely.

Despite the uncertainty, the Pools boss remains confident of keeping his squad together but any additions are likely to be put on hold until more clarity is provided regarding the National League season.
