Hull City recall winger Tyler Hamilton from Hartlepool United but Dave Challinor will continue to keep tabs on the 21-year-old

Tyler Hamilton’s loan spell at Hartlepool United has been cut short as parent club Hull City exercise their recall option.

The 21-year-old winger joined Pools on loan in December but started just one National League match.

Both of his starts came at Harrogate Town’s CNG Stadium as he scored inside the opening 10-minutes of the FA Trophy loss before lining-up for the 4-1 Boxing Day defeat less than a fortnight later.

He also played a key role off the bench in United’s 1-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge before Christmas as he set-up Mark Kitching’s winner with his first touch of the ball.

But since then, Hamilton has been restricted to brief cameos off the bench before not being included in the matchday squad entirely for the most recent matches against Yeovil Town and Stockport County as he nursed an injury.

“Tyler is back fit but with him, he’ll be going back to Hull,” confirmed Hartlepool manager Dave Challinor.

“He’s looking to do some kind of severance on his contract there which again will make him a free agent when the window closes which leaves him with options to look at where he’s going next year.

“I’ll be keeping in touch with his agent and Tyler in terms of where they’re at and what they’re looking to do because it’s certainly not a closed book for us.

“But he’s been recalled by Hull in order to try and sort the remainder of his contract out and try to put him in a better situation personally.”
