The 22-year-old centre-back has featured 11 times for Pools so far this season but injury issues have since hindered his impact under Dave Challinor as he’s failed to start a first-team game since the new manager took charge in November.

Cunningham impressed during his run in the side earlier in the campaign and has the highest average match rating of any Hartlepool player so far this season largelydue to his limited game time.

Since returning from injury, Cunningham has found himself down the pecking order at Pools following the loan signings of Gary Liddle and Timi Odusina as well as Myles Anderson’s return from a brief loan spell at Aldershot Town.

The young defender will now join a Blyth side fighting for survival in the sixth tier.
