Goals from Aidan Keena and Mark Shelton stretched Pools’ unbeaten run to four matches and saw them move to within three points of the final play-off place.
Dave Challinor welcomed top scorer Gime Toure back to the fray while new defensive signings Macauley Southam-Hales and Timi Odusina were thrust straight into the starting XI for their debuts despite only agreeing their loan deals on Thursday.

5. Macauley Southam-Hales - 8
Made an important goal line clearance with the score at 0-0. Grew in confidence as the game went on and proved to be a great outlet down the right. Named man of the match following what was a very impressive debut | Other 3rd Party Photo: Mark Fletcher
6. Nicky Featherstone - 8
When Pools play well, a strong Featherstone midfield display is never too far away. Just makes the team tick when they’re on song. | Other 3rd Party Photo: Paul Paxford
7. Mark Shelton - 8
A goal and an assist in what proved to be a productive afternoon for the midfielder. Unfortunate not to be named man of the match. | Other 3rd Party Photo: Paul Paxford
8. Gavan Holohan - 8
At the heart of everything Pools did well for the majority of the game. Had plenty of shots but will be disappointed not to score. Played a key role in both goals. | Other 3rd Party Photo: Paul Paxford
