Our Pools writer, Dominic Scurr, has dished out his player ratings – with a look at how the club’s five new signing and trio of triallists fared on their first outing of the new campaign. Scroll down and click through the pages to see who shone and struggled for Craig Hignett’s side in the friendly at Billingham:
9. Gime Toure - 7
A standout for Pools mainly due to his sheer high and presence on the left wing. The Frenchman caused Billingham problems coming in from the left and held up possession well though should have scored when played through on goal by Featherstone. Photo: FRANK REID
10. Niko Muir - 7
Was deployed as Pools’ main striker in the opening 45-minutes. Muir held the ball up well and linked up with Molyneux and Toure on either side without having too many chances himself. Photo: Frank Reid
11. Peter Kioso - 7
Typically positive down the right side and always looking to make things happen. Photo: Frank Reid
12. Aaron Cunningham - 6
Was sloppy in possession on a couple of occasions but demonstrated his early season fitness well by charging up the field from centre-back. Photo: Mark Fletcher
