The goalless draw at The Hive continued Pools’ unbeaten away start to the National League season despite them failing to capitalise on some late pressure.

Peculiarly, both Sky Sports and BBC Sport reported that Barnet had grabbed a late winner from Anthony Wordsworth despite absolutely nothing happening.

But 0-0 was how it finished as Dave Challinor’s side dropped to eighth in the National League table.

Here’s how fans reacted to the scoreline reporting blunder and of course, the real result…

Pools club president Jeff Stelling, who was broadcasting live on Sky Sports during the match, said afterwards: “I need a large drink after that rogue Barnet score.

"Perhaps the person providing the score had his view blocked by the crowd! Oh, I forgot...had to ask Robbie what the final score was!”

David Robson commented: “Could be worse, BBC after saying the game was postponed, think we’re losing.”

John Lathan added: “It’s odd reporting, first BBC & Sky say the game was off and they both say we get beat 1-0. Very, very odd.”

After making long journeys to Yeovil Town and Barnet in quick succession, Jack Ashman felt it showed in Pools’ performance: “:ook fatigued, bound to happen with all the travelling recently. Good point on the board, we move on.”

@Poolieboy1Les1 agreed: “Two long trips in a short space of time and 4 points out of 6 isn't bad. Can't complain about that, well done lads.”

John Sharpe praised Pools’ new centre-back: “Just a leggy performance, could be a good point. [Tyler] Magloire is some player as well.”

@AidanBratt2002 said: “Pretty boring to watch but brilliant resiliency from the back line. Onto next week.”

Chris Smith wasn’t quite as positive as he Tweeted: “2 points dropped, this.”

Anthony Harrison was also struggling to take the positives: “Lack of shots, lack of effort playing a poor team and we offered nothing, rubbish. This team is bang average middle table if that. Not impressed with these performances, looked good at the weekend cause we were playing an abysmal team, that’s all.”
