It was a day to remember at Victoria Park for the Hartlepool United players and fans as they ended the regular season with a 4-0 win over Weymouth.

Ryan Johnson, Rhys Oates, Mark Shelton and Gavan Holohan were among the scorers as Pools secured their joint biggest National League win at The Vic with over 1,700 supporters in attendance for the first time this season.

The result saw Pools claim fourth spot in the table and set up a play-off eliminator round match against Bromley on Sunday, June 6 (4pm kick-off).

Midfielder Mark Shelton posted: “50th game for pools today, what an amazing feeling having the fans back in. Buzzing with the goal and MOM, let’s make this a season to remember!

Player of the season Rhys Oates tweeted: “What an unbelievable feeling winning both of these awards today! Thank you to everyone that voted! 3 massive games to go now.”

Goalscorer Ryan Johnson said: “Goal, clean sheet and 3pts. So happy to have some of you back in!”

Forward Danny Elliott wrote: “Loved every second of that, playing in front of the Hartlepool fans for the first time.”
