Luton Town set to announce signing of Hartlepool United defender Peter Kioso

The Hatters have been tracking the 20-year-old for a while and watched him score in Pools’ 2-2 draw at Yeovil Town on Saturday afternoon.

Kioso joined Pools from Dunstable in 2018 and has since became a fan favourite at Victoria Park with four goals in 69 appearances in all competitions.

He will now return to Bedfordshire to join the Championship strugglers after Pools accepted an initial six-figure fee. That fee will likely increase should Kioso be sold on by further as Pools will have a healthy sell-on clause.

It’s been a disappointing week on the transfer front for Pools after they missed out on a few key targets before selling striker Nicke Kabamba to Kilmarnock. But the money generated from transfers will be reinvested into the squad, with reinforcements expected this week.
