With no games set to take place until at least April 3, Boro decided to relive one of the greatest nights in the club’s history by streaming the second leg of their 2006 UEFA Cup quarter-final against Basel.
Steve McClaren’s side needed to score four goals at the Riverside after falling 3-0 behind on aggregate, yet a Mark Viduka double as well as goals from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Massimo Maccarone completed a remarkable comeback.
Many fans enjoyed the rerun which was shown on the club’s YouTube channel, while Boro’s Twitter account also tweeted updates on the match.
