The Teessiders made nine new signings across the summer and January transfer windows, some on loan and some on permanent deals. We take a closer look at the players who have arrived at the Riverside over the last year and how they fared – scroll down and flick through the pages to make your own assessments:
5. Patrick Roberts - from Manchester City (loan)
Boro's business in January was slightly better, and Roberts was the pick of the bunch. It's a shame we didn’t get to see more of the Manchester City loanee who suffered a hamstring injury during his first few weeks at the club. The playmaker stayed at Boro after the season was suspended and produced an excellent display in an away win at Reading. Photo: Naomi Baker
6. Lukas Nmecha - from Manchester City (loan)
Another player who arrived on loan from City, yet he didn't have the same impact as Roberts. Nmecha made 12 appearances for Boro but didn't score. At times it was easy to forget the striker was still at the club. Photo: Mike Hewitt
7. Dejan Stojanovic - from St. Gallen (undisclosed fee)
Was brought in for around £1million to replace Darren Randolph in January but didn't play until March. Stojanovic, 26, received more game time under Warnock and did make some important saves during the run-in. He didn't always look totally convincing though. Photo: Getty Images
8. Harold Moukoudi - from St-Etienne (loan)
Was rated highly by Woodgate and produced some good performances at the back. Like Roberts, it's a shame we didn't see more of Moukoudi after his loan spell was cut short due to the season overrunning. Photo: Julian Finney
