Middlesbrough came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at the Riverside, and there were plenty of other storylines which were worth keeping an eye on.
Our Boro writer Joe Nicholson has picked out some of the winners and losers from the last few days – scroll down and flick through our picture gallery to see who shone and struggled:
1. W: Paddy McNair
How good was the Northern Ireland international at the weekend? Despite starting on the left of a back three, McNair was a constant driving force for Boro in a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth and earned his side a point when his excellent cross was headed home by Marcus Browne nine minutes from time. 2. L: QPR
Boro will travel to QPR next week when Mark Warburton's side will be hoping for a different outcome following Friday's 3-2 defeat at Coventry. Rangers took the lead through a Lyndon Dykes penalty but looked shaky at the back, conceding a third six minutes from time. Photo: Catherine Ivill
3. W: Luton
After defying the odds to stay in the Championship last season, Luton are one of two Championship sides (along with Reading) who have won their opening two league games. A late winner from Jordan Clark gave Nathan Jones' men all three points against Derby at Kenilworth Road. Photo: Tony Marshall
4. L: Dael Fry
Despite Boro's lack of centre-backs, Fry has a fight on his hands to get back into the side. The 23-year-old missed a large part of pre-season and still looked rusty when he played in the Carabao Cup. Boro's back three of McNair, Grant Hall and Anfernee Dijksteel all impressed at the weekend. Photo: Alex Davidson
