The Everton flanker was set to move to the Riverside on loan but a deal wasn’t completed in time.

Talk has increased this week about Boro revisiting the deal for a player who is surplus to requirements at Goodison Park.

Warnock is a big fan of Bolasie, who he worked with at Crystal Palace, and has repeatedly said he wants to sign more wide players at Boro.

When asked if the Bolasie deal could be revived next month, Warnock said: “I hope so. I’ve not heard anything at the moment but Steve (Gibson) knows we need a bit of help in those positions.

“You look at the teams we are playing against and they have good wide players so we need a little bit more help in that respect.”

Boro have struggled to create and score chances this season and Warnock is hopeful the club can bolster their attacking options next month.

“We need good attacking wide players who are going to create goals,” added Warnock. “At the moment I’m asking lads to do a job which they’re doing but we need goals.

“If we are not going to score from set-pieces we need to score from other areas and that’s why we need wide players who can contribute to goals.

"I’d have Yannick tomorrow everyone knows that but I don’t know if there are any conversations going on at the moment.”
